An Upstate New York Driving School Gets The Green Light

Since it began two years ago, Tri-City Driving Academy quickly established itself as the driving instruction school of choice in the Greater New York Capital Region, bounded by the three cities of Albany, Schenectady, and Troy, New York. Sure, there were other schools established long before the company came along. But what set Tri-City apart was its connection with the community and its ability to relate to an ethnically diverse clientele.

Tri-City says it offers the best driving training in the Capital Region. The community’s overwhelming positive response, as reflected in the company’s growing list of 5-star reviews on its Google Business page, supports that claim.

Tri-City’s director, Darryl Dowdell, contacted me to talk about establishing the company’s brand identity before the ink had dried on the corporation papers. He needed a logo and a website, something simple without a lot of fanfare, but also something which quickly identified the business and gave off a positive vibe. I designed the logo components to work together or to operate effectively on their own. The logo mark consists of a visual play of a steering wheel with a person inside. The dangling key makes it easy to remember, as does the color palette centered around green and yellow-gold.

The client gave me a great deal of latitude to design and implement the brand’s visual elements in my digital content. In my video productions I promoted the company’s three courses—pre-licensing, road test preparation, and defensive driving—as something of great benefit for all types of drivers. The posts I created on social media highlight the satisfaction and confidence gained from learning how to drive because of having trained with best. I’m proud to be associated with Tri-City Driving Academy!
