Life is stressful, and at times, overwhelming. We could all use some positive reinforcement every now and then. The right inspirational quote could provide the much-needed lift. That’s why a powerful image combined with a few wise words has such a positive effect.
I wasn’t around when he said it, but legend has it Leonardo DaVinci once said, “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” Nothing can be more sophisticatedly simple than pairing the right imagery with the right words to inspire and motivate someone. In a world driven by selfishness, it’s a way to give to others to help them on their way.
So, in keeping with the theme of giving, I’m offering a free Instagram square post (1080 px) template in Photoshop format. The template contains three editable posts. Turn on the desired post group (colored red, green, and blue; be sure to turn off the other two) and start editing. You may need to install or replace the fonts if you don’t have them on your system. Replace the image placeholders with your own, edit the quote text, and insert your social media handle. Also, be sure to adjust the blending mode and color overlay of the quote box to match to give the proper contrast against your background image. And don’t forget to delete or turn off the top two layers with my branding and text. Export the file to PNG or JPG and upload it to Instagram.

If you’re curious like me, take time to investigate the relationships between the various blending modes of the elements in each post. Changing the blending mode and colors in a shape or photo can change the whole look and feel of the post. Try it out and see what you can produce that suits your style and taste. You might be pleasantly surprised.
