How I Became The Content Creator
Several years ago, I paid someone to design my first WordPress website. I paid what I thought was a lot of money. Once he finished the site design, he asked me what I was going to do about site content. That was the first time I heard the word “content” used in the context of design.
For 15 years I worked as a legal assistant. In 2004, I started working for myself in 2004 as legal presentation consultant. Providing real-time courtroom support during trials started my career as a freelancer. I enjoyed the adrenaline rush of preparing for trials in different cities. My natural element consisted of building exhibit databases, designing PowerPoints, and editing video. But weeks on the road at a time and living out of a suitcase got old after a while.

In 2017, I started a design services business which allowed me to work from home. Once COVID hit, it turned into a full-time job. The skills I used as a consultant prepared me well for this phase of my creative growth. I’ve invested hundreds of hours reading and taking self-study courses to increase my efficiency in critical areas of design. That expanded knowledge has given me the confidence to try new techniques and work on advanced projects.
